  • 1 pound ground pork (or chicken/mushrooms)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small green cabbage, chopped
  • 6-8 cups chicken or vegetable stock
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a large stockpot over medium heat, cook the ground pork for 5-6 minutes until browned. Transfer to a plate.
  2. Sauté onions in the same pot with olive oil for about 5 minutes. Add carrots and garlic; sauté for another 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in cabbage, stock, ground ginger, and cooked pork back into the pot.
  4. Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes until vegetables are tender. Add toasted sesame oil and season to taste.
  5. Serve warm with toppings like sesame seeds or green onions.
