Ingredients

  • ¼ cup dried hibiscus flowers (or 1 cup fresh petals)
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 inches ginger, sliced
  • 2 inches turmeric, sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ½ orange, sliced
  • 5 basil leaves
  • Fresh mint stem and leaves
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a large pot with the dried hibiscus flowers or fresh petals.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add sliced ginger, turmeric, cinnamon stick, orange slices, basil, and mint.
  3. Cover and steep for 15–20 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  4. Strain the mixture into a glass or mug using a fine mesh strainer.
  5. Sweeten with agave syrup according to your taste preference.
