  • 1 medium cauliflower (cut into florets)
  • 1/3 cup rice flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/3 – 1/4 cup water
  • 1.5 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1-2 tbsp Sriracha sauce (to taste)
  • 1 inch fresh ginger (finely minced)
  • 4-5 cloves fresh garlic (finely minced)
  • 2-3 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • sesame seeds
  • spring onions
  • sliced chilis

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, cornstarch, optional garlic powder, and water to create a smooth batter. Coat the cauliflower florets in the mixture.
  3. Spread the coated cauliflower on a baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  4. While baking, whisk together sesame oil, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, Sriracha, ginger, garlic, honey/maple syrup, cornstarch, and water in a separate bowl.
  5. Once baked, drizzle the sauce over the cauliflower and toss gently to coat. Return to the oven for another 10 minutes until hot and sticky.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onions before serving.
